Un grande successo per la prima edizione dell’Arnhem Supercross davanti ad un incredibile pubblico che ha assistito alle entusiasmanti gare comodamente seduto sulle gradinate del Gerledome!
I grandi protagonisti della finalissima sono stati i due campioni del Mondo Tim Gajser su Honda Factory Team Gariboldi Racing e Romain Febvre su Yamaha Monster Energy, ma l’americano Malcolm Stewart (Honda Geico) non è certo stato a guardare i due europei andando a vincere la seconda finale della categoria Supercross.
Fin dalle prove di qualifica del pomeriggio si è visto che il neo Campione del Mondo della MXGP voleva conquistare l’ambito Trofeo messo in palio dalla Off Road Pro Racing e ha subito spinto forte, prendendo anche numerosi rischi e cadendo ben dure volte nella prima finale.
Anche Stewart ha forzato tantissimo sul tracciato molto tecnico e insidioso, cercando nel “main event” di rimanere a contatto con i primi; nella prima frazione è scivolato, compromettendo la gara, ma si è ampiamente rifatto nella successiva andando a tagliare il traguardo per primo.
Febvre, nonostante in conferenza stampa avesse dichiarato di non avere molta esperienza nel Supercross, ha messo in luce doti da grande campione vincendo l’assoluta della categoriaSupercross.
Nella finalissima di serata, valida per la conquista dell’Arnhem SX, è scattato velocissimo al via Cedric Soubeyras (Suzuki), ma dopo qualche giro è stato attaccato da Febvre, mentre Gajser rimontava dalle retrovie. A pochi giri dal termine il Campione in carica della MXGP si è portato a ridosso del leader e i due hanno dato vita ad un bellissimo duello durato diversi giri che si è concluso sotto la bandiera a scacchi con la vittoria del pilota HRC. Alle spalle di Soubeyras ha terminato Stewart, che ha rimontato diverse posizioni dopo una partenza nelle retrovie.
Non solo i big della massima categoria in pista nell’arena belga, ma anche tante altre categorie e nella 250 ha vinto l’italiano Morgan Lesiardo (Yamaha), seguito da Steven Mages (Kawasaki) e Kadie Walker (Suzuki).
Nella 125 vittoria di Calvin Fonvielle (Yamaha) che ha preceduto Bo Declercq (KTM) e Ryan Wittlon (KTM).
Adam Zsolt Kovacs (KTM) si è aggiudicato la 85 e ha preceduto Nikita Kucherov (Kawasaki) e Boyd Van Der Voorn (Husqvarna).
Per quanto riguarda i giovanissimi del KNMV Junior Trophy, la vittoria è andata a Olaf Wlodarcak (Cobra) davanti a Cobus Van De Vorstenbos (KTM) e Svenn Borger (KTM).
Lo staff italiano della Off Road Pro Racing sta già pensando al prossimo appuntamento e ci si vedrà al Gelredome a ottobre del 2017!

From the afternoon qualifying session we have seen that the 2016 World MXGP Champion wanted to win the important Trophy by Off Road Pro Racing and immediately pushed hard, taking numerous risks and first final he did two crashes without any problem.
Stewart also forced a lot on very technical and spectacular track, looking in the “main event” to remain in contact with the first riders; in the first race he didn’t finish the race after a crash, but was very strong in the next going to cross the finish line in first position.Tim Gajser

Febvre, during the press conference had said that he did not have much experience in Supercross, but on the track he pushed very hard and he went to win the absolute of the Supercross Class.
In the final match of the evening, valid for win “ArnhemSX”, Cedric Soubeyras (Suzuki) did a very good start, but after a few laps he was attacked by Febvre, while Gajser did a lot of overtaking after a bad start. For a few laps the Champion of MXGP was close to the leaders and the two show a beautiful duel lasted several laps which ended under the checkered flag with the victory of the HRC rider. Behind Soubeyras ended Stewart, who remounted several positions after starting in the back.
Not just the big riders on the top class was in the arena of the Holland track, but also many other categories and in 250 won the Italian Morgan Lesiardo (Yamaha), followed by Steven Mages (Kawasaki) and Kadie Walker (Suzuki).
