Bulgaria amara per i piloti del Team KTM Silver Action.
Stephen Rubini 2018 MXGP of Bulgaria Sevlievo
Il Mondiale MXGP dalla Svizzera si è spostato in Bulgaria sulla spettacolare pista di Sevlievo, località situata a circa duecento KM dalla capitale Sofia.
Assenti Nicola Bertuzzi per un problema al ginocchio e Yuri Quarti perchè ha deciso di prepararsi al meglio per le due prove finali dell’Italiano Prestige, il Team KTM Silver Action si è presentato con Stephen Rubini nel Mondiale MX2 e con Gianluca Facchetti nella penultima dell’Europeo EMX250.
Le prove cronometrate della MX2 hanno visto Stephen ottenere l’undicesimo tempo a meno di un secondo dalla sesta piazza. Allo start della gara di qualifica, Rubini è tredicesimo ma con una buona progressione rimonta fino alla nona posizione finale. La partenza della prima manche lo vede a ridosso del decimo posto, posizione che prende subito al secondo passaggio. Al terzo però succede il fattaccio….. Ben Watson e Hunter Lawrence si toccano, cadono entrambi e le loro moto rimangono in mezzo alla pista. Stephen non le vede e ci finisce sopra. La botta è notevole, soprattutto alla testa. Ovviamente c’è il ritiro e la conseguente decisione di non prendere parte a gara.
Gianluca Facchetti 2018 EMX250 Round of Bulgaria Sevlievo
Nell’Europeo EMX250, le Time Practice di Gianluca Facchetti sono state ottime. Con il tempo di 1:53.868 Gianluca si piazza terzo a 0.279 dalla Pole Position.
Il via di gara uno vede il giovane pilota del Team KTM Silver Action attestarsi in quarta posizione e dal passo gara si vede subito che la velocità c’è. A circa metà manche viene raggiunto e superato da Ivanov che però scivola a tre tornate dal termine e Gianluca si riprende la posizione.
Sempre buono lo start anche in gara due, al primo passaggio Facchetti è secondo, passano i giri ma invece di tenere la posizione Gianluca inizia ad indietreggiare inesorabilmente. La causa è un calo fisico dovuto al gran caldo e all’indurimento degli avambracci. Peccato perchè dopo la quarta piazza di gara uno, il podio sarebbe stato alla sua portata.

Bitter GP of Bulgaria for Team KTM Silver Action
MXGP World Championship moved from Switzerland to the spectacular circuit of Sevlievo, about 200km far away from Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.
Nicola Bertuzzi (knee’s issue) and Yuri Quarti (who decided to prepare at the best for the last two rounds of the Italian Prestige Championship) were not there so Team KTM Silver Action presented Stephen Rubini in MX2 World Championship and Gianluca Facchetti in the EMX250 European Championship’s second to last round.
In MX2 Timed Practice Stephen was 11th fastest, with less than one second of gap from the 6th place. At the beginning of Qualifying Race Rubini was 13th but he had a good progression and he finished 9th. In Race 1 he started closely to the Top 10, and he gained the 10th position straight away at the second lap. At lap 3, though, the incident happened… Ben Watson and Hunter Lawrence touched, they both fell off and their bikes stayed in the middle of the track. Stephen didn’t see them and he run over the bikes. The crash was big and he had some bruises, the biggest one was at his head. Obviously he had to retire and consequently decided not to take part to Race 2.
In EMX250 European Championship, Gianluca Facchetti’s Timed Practice was excellent. With a lap time of 1:53.868 he was third with only 0.279 seconds of gap from Pole Position.
At the beginning of Race 1 Team KTM Silver Action rider was in 4th place, and we could see a good race pace. Around the middle of the race he was reached and passed by Ivanov who slipped later on with three laps to go, so Gianluca took back his position and finished 4th.
Once again he had a good start in Race 2, as he was second after the first lap, but this time, instead of keeping that position, Gianluca started to move back relentlessly. The cause was a physical drop due to the heat and to the hardening of his forearms. That was a shame, because after his Race 1’s 4th place, the podium could have been at his range.
