Questo fine settimana in germania, al Team Red Bull KTM mancheranno sia Tony Cairoli che Jeffrey Herlings – gli ultimi due campioni del mondo MXGP – decimo round di diciotto del Campionato Mondiale FIM Motocross 2019.
Il #1 in carica Herlings si è infortunato alla gamba destra poco prima di vincere la prima manche a Kegums, in Lettonia, domenica scorsa. L’olandese è stato costretto a ritirarsi dal Grand Prix con una frattura della caviglia alla base del suo osso della tibia e ha subito un piccolo intervento chirurgico per inserire una piccola vite di riparazione questa settimana. Il 24enne rimarrà con il gesso e in un airboot per quasi due settimane prima di poter di nuovo affrontare il processo di fisioterapia, riabilitazione e allenamento per tornare sulla sua KTM 450 SX-F.
Cairoli è caduto nella seconda manche lo scorso fine settimana e si è lussato la spalla destra. Le scansioni iniziali erano positive ma l’articolazione continua ad essere dolorosa. Ulteriori esami si terranno tra due settimane per conoscere l’esatta entità del danno. Il nove volte campione del mondo e detentore della tabella rossa in questa stagione si ritroverà tristemente fuori dal Gran Premio a Teutschenthal, ma poi valuterà lo stato dell’infortunio.
Il Team Red Bull KTM continua a spingere forte nella classe MX2 con Jorge Prado in testa alla classifica che ha conquistato tutte e otto le sue apparizioni nel Grand Prix quest’anno e con Tom Vialle, che ha anche ottenuto ottimi risultati nella sua stagione da esordiente.

Cairoli and Herlings to miss German MXGP with injury setbacks
Red Bull KTM will miss both Tony Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings – the last two MXGP World Champions – this weekend for the Grand Prix of Germany and the tenth round of eighteen in the 2019 FIM Motocross World Championship.
Reigning #1 Herlings re-injured his right leg just prior to winning the first moto at Kegums in Latvia last Sunday. The Dutchman was forced to withdraw from the Grand Prix with a hairline fracture at the base of his tibia bone and underwent minor surgery to insert a small reparatory screw this week. The 24 year old will remain in a cast and airboot for almost two weeks before he can again go through the physio, rehab and training process to be back on his KTM 450 SX-F.
Cairoli fell in the second moto last weekend and dislocated his right shoulder. Initial scans were positive but the joint continues to be painful. Further examinations will take place in two weeks time to know the exact extent of the damage. The nine-times world champion and red plate holder this season will sadly sit out the Grand Prix at Teutschenthal but will then assess the state of the injury.
Red Bull KTM continue to push hard in the MX2 class with Jorge Prado leading the standings and having claimed all eight of his Grand Prix appearances this year and Tom Vialle also posting strong results in his rookie campaign.

Now we are experiencing the hard part of motocross but we know this is part of sport unfortunately. We don’t like it but we have to accept it and do our best to help Jeffrey and Tony get better and soon be in a position to be fighting at the front again.”
